When you live in city, even small like Split, it is hard to find a peaceful place for yourself, especially, if you are looking for beautiful nature, sun, sea, and if you want to avoid crowded places.
My Saturday walk, with my cell phone this time (apologies for low resolution photos) was from park Zvončac to beach Ježinac. Ježinac is a beautiful pebble beach located on the south side of Marjan. It is a quiet and clean beach with showers, changing rooms and concrete tables in the shadow where you can sit and play board games, cards or read. For Ježinac appearance, all thanks goes to Ježinac ecological society who’s enthusiastic members take care about the beach and the area.
It is so beautiful to pass through their small ‘club’ during summer, seeing them grilling fish, having lunch together, or just hanging out. You have to be very careful not to throw piece of paper on the ground, they are very strict about their rules 🙂
Just to the east is Uvala Zvončac cove with the same named park which has swimming but no beach. Just above the beach are Meštrović Gallery and the Kaštelet Meštrović, a chapel in which is now an art gallery. Both of these are tourist attractions.
20 minutes walk with few stops for my cellphone Blackberry Curve to shoot few photos, and it was like I am born again.
Back to the reality I am afraid, but that is the best thing with small cities. You can repeat this walk several times a day 🙂
